Preschool Enrollment

You can enroll your child in Smart Kids Preschool throughout the entire year. The official preschool enrollment period in the Czech Republic usually takes place between March and May, and during this time our preschool also announces regular enrollment for the upcoming school year. We recommend arranging an individual visit to our preschool in advance. You can contact us by email, phone, or through our social media channels.

The total capacity of Smart Kids Velké Přílepy is 27 children. Children are divided into three separate classes, each with a small group size of approximately 7 to 10 children. Enrollment during the school year is also possible, provided that current capacity allows it.

Children may be admitted if they:
a) have completed the required vaccinations, provide proof of immunity against infectious diseases, or cannot be vaccinated due to a permanent medical contraindication in accordance with Section 50 of Act No. 258/2000 Coll., on the Protection of Public Health,
b) have reached the age of five and are therefore subject to compulsory preschool education.

Enrollment Throughout the Year

Children may be enrolled throughout the entire school year, depending on the current capacity of the preschool. We always strive to accommodate the individual needs and timing preferences of each family.

We Accept Children from the Age of 2

We provide a safe, calm, and caring environment for children from an early age. We place great emphasis on gentle adaptation and an individual approach to every child.

Small Preschool Capacity

Thanks to our smaller number of children, we are able to create a warm family atmosphere and give each child plenty of care and attention. Smaller groups also support a calm and safe environment for children’s natural development.

Three Small Classes

Children are divided into smaller groups based on their age and individual needs, allowing for more effective learning and a personal approach. Smaller class sizes contribute to easier adaptation, greater well-being, and better communication between teachers and children.

Preschool Education

We provide preschool education for children from the age of two. Admission is based on the current capacity of the preschool and individual classes. Priority is given to children applying for full-day attendance and, in accordance with Section 34 (1) of the Czech Education Act, to children who are required to complete compulsory preschool education.

The admission of children with special educational or health needs is assessed individually based on a professional evaluation and written recommendations from a school counseling facility or the child’s registered pediatrician.

To apply for preschool admission, parents are required to submit a properly completed child registration form together with proof of vaccination. Applications may be submitted by post, in person, or electronically via email. The preschool director will decide on the child’s admission or non-admission no later than 30 days after the registration form has been submitted.

Compulsory Preschool Education

Preschool education is compulsory for children who reach the age of five before the beginning of the current school year. This obligation has been in effect in the Czech Republic since the 2017/2018 school year.

According to Section 34 (1) of the Czech Education Act, compulsory preschool education applies to Czech citizens residing in the Czech Republic for more than 90 days, citizens of other EU member states staying in the Czech Republic for more than 90 days, and other foreign nationals who are legally residing in the Czech Republic on a permanent or temporary basis for longer than 90 days. It also applies to applicants for international protection.

Compulsory preschool education does not apply to children with profound intellectual disabilities. Smart Preschool and Nursery Smart Kids, represented by the school director, is entitled to receive information from legal guardians regarding the child’s previous education, citizenship, health condition related to education, and any health issues that could affect the educational process. The preschool is also entitled to receive information about the legal guardian, including their full name, permanent residence or address, mailing address if different, and contact telephone number. These details are collected for the purposes of the official school records system.
